If you ever wondered what a POV of an econ degree is like.

It’s putting half a bottle of wine in your mind vice while you do a wicked sweet lab. I like inverting color - it makes excel a lot less straining to work on.

Since you’re curious, I’m downloading government data about the distribution of income since q1 1947 (income from corporate profits, wages, salaried vs. hourly workers) and working out the rates of change. Then I do some wicked sweet math to smooth out the business cycle and find the trends of the data. Then I do some statistics to find the significance of deviations from the trend.

Tyler note: my way of adjusting nominal to real gdp was within the error margin of the Federal Government’s adjustment! It’s actually a tricky thing to do because you can’t use inflation and the consumer price index.

And if you want to know: I think Ron Paul has some really bad ideas about the economy. If he were to secure the GOP nomination, I would be so worried about the future of the dollar and the world economy that I would actually buy gold or futures which are terrible vehicles for storing value.
